I know what happens in season 9, but but I don’t want the audience to know already what’s going to happen in season 9, because then it’ll take away from the ending. “We’ll have to see what presents itself in season 9. “I would say at the end of this episode, a lot happens,” he says. Atwater and Halstead have a different perspective on this than Ruzek and Voight.”Īnd while Squerciati previously teased that “Intelligence will look different next year,” Eid was a bit more coy. There are different perspectives on police reform within the team, among the team members. “Voight wants to find her whereabouts as well, but there are certain rules in place and things they can and can’t do. “ Ruzek is struggling to keep it together and is prepared to do anything he needs to do to find her,” he continues. “The second part of the episode 15, with Deputy Superintendent Miller’s son, they came up against the same issue of, do we skirt the law for the greater good? Do we ‘do the wrong the right reason’? And they come up against it again, but this is even more personal, even more emotional.” “That’s what the whole episode is really about on that side of the story: What’s the right way to do this?” Eid says. But in trying to find Burgess, they’ll face their toughest challenge yet. Throughout the season, the team has struggled with the new mandates, as they coped with the ongoing police reform and the increased eyes on them as they do their job. They’re struggling to find her at all costs.” And Intelligence is doing everything they can to find her, they have different philosophies about what is right and what is wrong-what is permissible and what is not permissible. Burgess is in a rough place-we find her in harm’s way, in a really dire situation. ![]() “The episode is basically about Intelligence trying to find Burgess before it’s too late. “We find her in a lot of trouble in the finale,” Eid previews. ended with Kim Burgess ( Marina Squerciati) being ambushed, and things get more intense in the May 26 episode, “The Other Side.” showrunner Rick Eid asks in the midst of previewing the NBC drama’s season 8 finale. “Did I mention things get intense?” CHICAGO P.D. “The Other Side” Episode 816 - Pictured: (l-r) Jesse Lee Soffer as Jay Halstead, LaRoyce Hawkins as Kevin Atwater, Patrick John Flueger as Adam Ruzek - (Photo by: Lori Allen/NBC)
